Have you guys heard about CBD oil? It’s derived from hemp and offers many of the same health benefits of Medical Marijuana without the “High”. I recently got the chance to try some from Bluebird Botanicals and here is what happened.
What is CBD Oil?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural cannabinoid contained in the plants of the cannabis family. It is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not get you “high” since it doesn’t contain THC and it is also legal in all 50 states. Research is finding that CBD oil has numerous therapeutic properties and can be used as a natural aid for all sorts of conditions.
I had heard about it from my neighbor who was giving it to her dog that suffered from seizures. She said that it had drastically reduced the seizures and also had a positive effect on all her family members as well, even her children.
What Can CBD oil Be Used For?
When checking into it, I found that there are a TON of things that CBD oil can help with. And the list below is just to name a few. I was really surprised how many things it can treat. Don’t believe it? You can check out the many studies done on cannabidiol here.
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Reducing Seizures
What is CBD Oil Like?
The CBD Oil that I got from Bluebird Botanicals was the Hemp Classic 6x. Ingredients: CO2 Hemp Extract (1,500+ mg cannabinoids/fluid oz) emulsified in organic hemp seed oil. It is a very dark amber color. It has a very grassy smell. CBD oil can be taken internally by dropping it directly into your mouth, or mixed with food and drink. It can also be vaped, and comes in capsules, salves, and sprays.
When I tried it, I used the dropper and put a few drops underneath my tongue and held them there for 90 seconds before swallowing. Doing it this way, part of the cannabinoids are absorbed into the blood stream immediately and part of it slowly absorbs into the blood through gastric walls in stomach. You don’t really taste it until you swallow. It wasn’t horrible tasting and after I took a drink the taste was pretty much gone.
The first time I tried CBD oil I only used a few drops. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but overall I would explain it as a very relaxed warm feeling. I tried it on a number of different occasions in different amounts as well. They say that every person will need to experiment to find what amount to take that works for them.
So what did it feel like? I will say that I do get very anxious and the CBD oil made a huge difference. I get stressed out easily and I got a particularly upsetting phone call and was sitting there stressing out over it when I dawned on me that I had the CBD oil sitting there on my desk. I took the recommend dose of 15 drops and within minutes I found that I felt really relaxed. The whole rest of the day I really didn’t even stress or think about it. On another occasion I took it before a doctor visit and it really made me feel much more relaxed. My skin crawls just being in a doctor’s office and taking CBD oil beforehand made it much more tolerable. It does not make you feel dazed or altered or “high” at all. Just relaxed. It didn’t make me have zero anxiety, but it did take me from a 10 down to maybe a 3 in terms of anxiety levels. I am really impressed with it so far and I hope this post helps some of you that may not have known about CBD.
Where to Get CBD oil?
When looking online there are a lot of places that sell CBD oil. That is great but it can also be troublesome. Companies looking to cash in can create low quality oils that contain unwanted mold, heavy metals, and even pesticides. Some companies are actually selling oils containing 0% of the labeled ingredients. Since you will be ingesting it, you really want to make sure you find a quality oil that has been thoroughly tested and actually is what they say it is.
When checking out the Bluebird website, I found that they have a pretty intensive quality control system. Every bottle contains a batch number that you can use to look at the Certificates Of Analysis for that batch which contains things like purity, potency, and microbiological screening. All the tests are done by a third party.
If you want to check them out, visit https://www.bluebird-botanicals.com/ They have CBD products for people and pets in many different types of products like extracts, vape oils, and capsules. New customers get 20% off their first order with coupon code: “firsttime” I would really recommend them if your thinking about trying CBD due to the strict quality control. Plus, you want to know your getting what you paid for!
If you have any questions about CBD oil leave a comment and I’ll do my best to answer. Ever tried it? What did you think?
