We all have our ways of eating certain foods, habits we’ve picked up from family, friends, or just figuring things out on our own. But what if I told you some of those methods might not be the most efficient? From fruits to fast food, here are 13 foods you’ve probably been eating wrong your whole life. Prepare to have your mind blown and your eating habits forever changed!
Peeling Bananas
Most people peel bananas from the stem, but if you’ve ever watched a monkey, they peel from the bottom up. It’s easier and prevents those stringy bits from sticking to the fruit.
Eating Chicken Wings
Instead of nibbling around the bone, twist the small bone until it comes out, and then you can easily eat the meat off the larger bone.
Consuming Cupcakes
Instead of biting into it and getting frosting all over your nose, twist off the bottom and sandwich it on top. Now you have a cupcake sandwich with an even distribution of cake and frosting.
Using a Straw with a Soda Can
Turn the tab around so it’s over the opening. Now you have a perfect holder for your straw.
Eating an Apple
Instead of eating around the core, eat the apple top to bottom. You’ll consume more of the apple, and the core will seem much smaller.
Peeling Oranges
Cut off the top and bottom, make a small slit on the side, and then roll it out. You’ll get a perfect strip of orange segments.
Eating Pomegranates
Cut it in half and submerge it in water. The seeds will sink, and the pith will float, making it easy to separate.
Consuming Toblerone
Instead of trying to break a piece off outward, press the tip inward. It breaks off much easier.
Eating Tic Tacs
The Tic Tac container has a tiny crater on the inside of the lid. When you tilt the container, one Tic Tac will fit perfectly into this spot, making it easier to single out one mint.
Using Ketchup Cups
Instead of squeezing ketchup into the tiny cup, fan out the sides. Now you have a bigger dipping container.
Eating Chinese Takeout
The takeout container unfolds into a plate, which makes it easier to mix and eat your food.
Consuming Pringles
Fold a piece of paper in half and slide it into the can. When you tilt the can, the chips will slide out onto the paper.
Peeling Ginger
Instead of using a peeler, use the edge of a spoon. It’ll take off the skin without wasting any of the ginger.
