Getting samples of kratom to try before you buy can be a great way to explore different strains and vendors, and to find the products that work best for you. Many kratom vendors offer sample packs, which typically include a small amount of several different strains, allowing you to try a variety of options without committing to a full-sized product.
What is Kratom?
Kratom, also known as Mitragyna speciosa, is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. Its leaves have been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, and more recently, it has gained popularity in the Western world as an alternative to opioids for pain relief and as a natural supplement for anxiety and depression.
Kratom leaves contain two main active compounds, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which interact with opioid receptors in the brain to produce pain relief, relaxation, and euphoria. Kratom leaves are typically dried and ground into a fine powder, which can be consumed in several ways, including in capsules, brewed as tea, or mixed with food or drink.

The legal status of kratom varies by country and even by state within the United States. In some countries, such as Thailand, kratom use and possession is illegal. In the United States, kratom is legal on a federal level, but some states have banned its use or restricted its sale.
As of 2021, kratom is illegal in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Some cities and counties in other states have also banned or restricted the sale of kratom. In addition, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued warnings about the potential dangers of kratom, including the risk of addiction and overdose.
Is Kratom Safe?
The safety of kratom is a topic of ongoing debate and research. While kratom has been used safely for centuries in its native regions, its use in the Western world is still relatively new and has not been extensively studied.
Some research suggests that kratom may have potential benefits for pain relief, anxiety, and depression, and may be a less addictive alternative to opioids. However, other research has linked kratom use to a variety of health risks, including addiction, overdose, liver damage, and withdrawal symptoms.
