These free items can help customers save money on their energy bills by using less electricity and natural gas. Sometimes you will need to have a free home energy audit done, and most of time you can just request a free kit. Let’s take a closer look at these energy-saving kits and how you can take advantage of them.

Energy Saver Kits
2 FREE Trees from Participating Utility Companies – Utility companies across the country are becoming partners with the Arbor Day Foundation to help reduce energy use through strategic tree planting. See if yours is participating.
San Diego Gas and Electric – Get a FREE water and energy savings kit that includes a handheld shower head, kitchen and bath faucet aerators plus an LED night light. Limit one kit per household every ten years. Please allow fifteen business days for delivery of the Water & Energy Savings Kit.
These devices allow air to enter into the water stream, maintaining a high-pressure flow while reducing water usage.
FPL – Florida Power and light offers rebates on things like insulation and air conditioning units. FPL Home offers affordable energy-related products and services that add value and comfort to your home.
Hawaii Energy – Hawaii Energy launches a new offer unlike any in the program’s six-year history: free and low-cost home energy-saving kits that give residential electric customers the opportunity to reduce their annual energy costs by up to $160.
Idaho Power – Sign up with your account number and they will mail you FREE 9 LED bulbs, aerators, shower head, thermometer, flow rate tester and other more. One per household.
Potomac Edison – Maryland residential customers of Potomac Edison can now take advantage of discounts and rebates on the purchase of ENERGY STAR®-certified LED bulbs.
You can also schedule a Home Energy checkup where they send an auditor to you home for free. The auditor may install energy-saving products valued up to $75 during the Quick Home Energy Checkup. These products may include:
- Up to 14 LED bulbs
- Bathroom faucet aerators
- Kitchen faucet aerators
- Electric water heater pipe insulation
- Water-saving showerheads
DTE Energy – You may qualify for a FREE Energy Efficiency Kit with easy to install, energy-saving products*, such as:
- LED light bulbs
- Energy efficient showerhead
- Water-saving kitchen faucet aerators
- Water-saving bathroom faucet aerators
- Pipe wrap
- Outlet safety covers
Entergy Mississippi – Customers can order the free kits at msentergysolutions-marketplace.com, which include:
- Four standard LED bulbs
- Two specialty LED bulbs
- One advanced power strip
- One LED night light
- Two bathroom faucet aerators
- 17 feet of V-seal weatherstripping
North Carolina, South Carloina, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky
Duke Energy – Sign up for a FREE Energy Kit to save energy in your home. It comes with:
- LED Bulbs
- LED Night Light
- Energy-Efficient Showerhead
- Faucet Aerators
- Glow Ring Toy
- And more!
First Energy – Sign up for the Easy Cool Rewards Program .Participants in this new program will receive a professionally-installed Honeywell programmable thermostat (a $250 value) that can help you reduce your heating and cooling costs by up to 15 percent*.
Energy Trust – Qualified customers can request a free Energy Saver Kit for you that will include energy-saving products to help you reduce utility costs right away. Please allow four to six weeks for delivery.
Residential customers of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power, and West Penn Power are now eligible to receive an energy conservation kit for free. There is no additional cost for this kit. The kit includes five LED light bulbs and three compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) in various wattages, a furnace filter whistle and three LED night lights.
Columbia Gas of Virginia – Columbia Gas of Virginia customers will receive a free energy efficiency kit!
Wisconsin Focus on Energy – Customers can request a free energy saving pack that includes showerheads, LED lamps, aerators, and more.
